I love it when a highly resourced person with great taste—like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, or Irene Neuwirth—starts a passion project that becomes a real business. Blackstone president Jonathan Gray’s wife Mindy Gray created this lovely general store the right way: by preserving the adjoining post office, consulting locals and workers on prices, and hiring the Hamptons-famous architect Frank Greenwald.
